01 Feb 10 Google stoppt Unterstützung für Internet Explorer 6

Ein Thema das alle Webentwickler weltweit vereint – die fehlende Liebe zum Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. Dies kann man bei vielen sicherlich auch noch auf die ganze Microsoft Browserfamile erweitern

Google hat am 29. Januar in seinem Enterprise Blog verkündet, dass zum 01.März der Support des IE6 eingestellt wird. Dies betrifft Google Dienste wie Google Docs u.a.

Im Google Bloh heißt es:

We’re also going to begin phasing out our support, starting with Google Docs and Google Sites. As a result you may find that from March 1 key functionality within these products — as well as new Docs and Sites features — won’t work properly in older browsers.

Youtube hat ja schon vor längerer Zeit die Unterstützung für den Oldschool Browser von Bill Gates eingestellt.

Zukünftig werden die Google Websites nur noch folgende Browser unterstützen:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+
• Mozilla Firefox 3.0+
• Google Chrome 4.0+
• Safari 3.0+
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0+
• Mozilla Firefox 3.0+
• Google Chrome 4.0+
• Safari 3.0+
